About Adventure Yarns
Adventure Yarns is a business component of an international development project based in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The project began in 2009 and is managed by ICARDA and funded by IFAD.
The project has two main objectives - to assist Tajik farmers to produce quality fiber goats, and to teach spinners, knitters and weavers how to produce luxury mohair and cashgora yarns and knitted and woven products for export. The project also works with women's groups in Kyrgyzstan to produce luxury wool felt handicrafts.
Export of yarns and handicrafts is expected to improve the livelihoods of Tajik rural women while offering our customers high quality, fairly traded products from luxurious natural fibers. Please follow the links to learn more about the project, the farmers, spinners, knitters, weavers and felters, and the products they make.
